Upcoming Webinars
Trainee Talks: What is a research paradigm anyway? And which ones align with qualitative studies?
January 15, 2026 | 1:00 - 2:30 PM CT
Presenters: Dr. Martina Kelly and Dr. Patty Thille
Research paradigms underpin every study, shaping the ethical practices and methodologies & methods chosen. Unfortunately, paradigms often remain unstated, making it harder to navigate the possibilities and decisions in qualitative research. In this second session in a series, Patty Thille and Martina Kelly introduce common paradigms in primary care research that align with different qualitative methodologies. We will highlight the kinds of research questions that each seeks to address, and work through examples of how paradigm choice shapes methodological decisions.
